Prayer for your enemy
Psalm 109
King James Version
109 Hold not thy peace, O Yahweh Elohim of my praise;
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.
4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.
7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the O Yahweh; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before Yahweh continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
20 Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from Yahweh, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
21 But do thou for me, O Yahweh my Elohim, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.
22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.
24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.
25 I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.
26 Help me, OYahweh My Elohim: O save me according to thy mercy:
27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Yahweh, hast done it.
28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.
29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.
30 I will greatly praise thee Yahweh with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.
Divine Help in Daily Life
May it be thy will, O Yahweh our Elohim and Elohim of Our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Yahcub,to accustom us to walking thee Torah, and to make us cleave to thee commandments. “O” lead us not into sin , or transgression, iniquity, temptation, or disgrace: let not the evil inclination have sway over us: keep us for from a bad man and a bad companion; make us to cleave to good inclination and to do good works: subdue our inclination so that it may submit it self-unto thee: and let us obtain this day, and every day, grace favour, and mercy in thine eyes, and in the eyes of all who behold us; and bestow loving kindnesses upon us. Blessed art thou “O” Yahweh who bestowest lovingkindnesses upon thy people Israel.
May it be thy will, “O” Yahweh my Elohim and Elohim of my fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Yahcub,to deliver me this day, and every day, from arrogant man and from arrogance, from a bad man and companion and from bad neighbor, and from any mishap or evil hindrance; from a hard judgment, and from a hard opponent, be he a son of the covenant or be he not a son of the covenant.
At all times let a man revere Yahweh in private as in public, acknowledge the truth and speak the in his heart; and let him rise early and say : Sovereign of all worlds !Not because of our righteous act do we lay our supplication before thee, but because of thine abundant mercies. What are we? What is our life? What is piety? What is our righteousness? What is our helpfulness? What our strength? What our might? What shall we say before thee,”O’’ Yahweh our Elohim and Elohim of our fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Yahcub. Are not all mighty men as naught before thee? The men of renown as though they had not been, the wise as if without knowledge, and the men of understanding as if without discernment? For most their works are void, and the days of their life are vanity before thee, and the pre-eminence of man over the beast is nought: for all is vanity. Nevertheless we are thy people Israel, The children of thy covenant, The children of Abraham, thy friend, to whom thou didst swear on Mount Moriah; The seed of Isaac, his only son, who was bound upon the alter; The congregation of Yahcub thy first born son, whose name thou didst call Israel and Yahrusalem by the reason of the love wherewith thou didst love him, and the joy wherewith thou didst rejoice in him. Therefore it is our duty to thank, Praise, and Glorify thee, To Bless, To Sanctify and to offer Praise and thanksgiving unto thy Name. Happy are we! How goodly is our portion, how pleasant our lot, and hoe beautiful our heritage! Happy are we who early and late, morning and evening, twice every , declare
HEAR,”O” ISRAEL YAHWEH IS OUR ELOHIM YAHWEH IS ONE.
Blessed be His Name, whose glorious kingdom is for ever and ever.
Confession
“O” Yahweh my Elohim, the great and dreadful Elohim, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
7 O Yahweh, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
8 O Yahweh, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
9 To Yahweh our Elohim belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of Yahweh, because we have sinned against him.
12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Yahweh our Elohim, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
14 Therefore hath Yahweh watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for Yahweh our Elohim is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
15 And now, O Yahweh our Elohim, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
16 O Yahweh, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
17 Now therefore, O our Elohim, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for Yahweh’s sake.
18 O my Elohim, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
19 O Yahweh, hear; O Yahweh, forgive; O Yahweh, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my Elohim: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
